Qatar Airways Cabin Crew Interview Tips Day 1

My experience in applying as a flight attendant since 19 and finally got my dream come true for an international airline at 27. The most wanted position in flight attendant industry which is the Qatar Airways Cabin Crew.

What to expect on Open Day  or Day 1 of your application? There would be a lot of people, they will not talk to you or give you more than 1-2 minutes, and you will wait throughout the day if you make it on the next stage of the application.

Then, here are my Day 1 Interview Tips :

  1. Be very, very early to beat all the people who’ll gonna go there as well. You want to meet your interview fresh by being the first one to be on the venue. Be your 100% best self and not tired, hungry, or rest out. In the Philippines, the lines would be really long ‘til the outside of hotel. If the call time is 9am, be there at 6am.

  1. Make an impact even before you are speaking to them. How? On the line, wait for the interview to call you as a sign of respect of their time. By that time, make sure your focused and ready your CV/ resume. Give a good eye contact, smile, and mind your posture. These three will definitely give you that impact. It would be just 1-2 minutes, maximize every second.

  1. To mind you doing the energy during the interview. Make you are happy and you are feeling happy. Of course, you feel nervous but don’t let it outshine you. Show them your happiness or cheerfulness as a person. Always smile by thinking happy thoughts and make it shine through. Don’t give your interviewer a poker face which will show that you are nervous. Keep your energy up and try to emulate that this is the fabulous day of your life.

  1. During the interview, the recruiter will just asks 1 or 2 questions perhaps after some formalities. Don’t be afraid to be chatty.  In the Philippines, we are used of not the first one to talk to but in your application - be the first one to talk, ask the recruiter about the day like how is he/she etc. Don’t over do it, just be friendly. And do not say any negative answers such as bad situations with your employer and others because that is definitely a no-no and you won’t get any feedback from them as well. Always say something positive eg. I am enjoying my career but I am looking for a place to grow as an individual, as we all are right?

  1. In experience, the usual 2 questions being asked are:
    1. What are you doing right now?
    2. Have you applied to us before?

Prepare answers on these. And in a very rare occasion, they will ask for CEO’s name.
