1. Attend preflight briefings on details of the flight.
2. Ensure that adequate supplies of refreshments and emergency equipment are on board.
3. Demonstrate the use of emergency equipment.
4. Ensure that all passengers fasten their seatbelts.
5. Serve, and sometimes sell beverages, meals, or snacks.
6. Take care of passenger’s needs.
7. Assist passengers with special needs.
8. Reassure passengers during flight, such as when the aircraft hits turbulence.
9. Administer first aid to passengers, when needed.
10. Direct passengers in case of emergency.
The above mentioned roles define what flight attendant is. Its job description further discuss the tasks and responsibilities before, during, and after flight. Therefore, to fulfill a career as a flight attendant - be sure that you are confident and willing to do the prescribed roles of the flight attendant.
