Qatar Airways Cabin Crew Open Day Interview Tips (Part 2)
Day 1: Open Day/ Impact Interview
The average waiting time for an applicant is 2 hrs. If you are the next one to go to recruiter’s table, wait until the other applicant leave the table then stand up and wait for the signal.
Also, while waiting for your turn – you sit straight, pay attention upon reaching the first line.
TIPS: eye contact, smile, and posture.
What to do: To pass your resume and pictures to recruiters.
What to say: Shake hands and greet. E.g “Hi! Welcome to Cebu Philippines.” Which is something that others may not say, and it’s a way for your to stand up yourself.
Interview questions:
- What is your current job? – “I am currently working as a flight attendant in a domestic airline here in the Philippines.” – Make sure that you sound positive and you are looking for a new challenge in your life. Sell yourself for 2 minutes through practice. Write your answer, memorize it, and deliver it a spontaneous manner.
- What do you know about Qatar Airways?
- Who is our CEO?
- Why do you want to apply in Qatar Airways?
What is your current job? – “I am currently working as a flight attendant in a domestic airline here in the Philippines.”

Day 2: Group Dynamics (Round 1)
You need to register and have a number. Recruiters will introduce themselves, some briefing then play video about Qatar Airways.
TIPS:
- The moment you enter the room, make sure you have a good posture.
- Look at the speaker and not to anybody else but recruiters are observing each and every one of you in the room.
- Turn off your cellphone and pay attention on the 30 minute video being played.
After the presentation, you will take the English exam. Then, do a reach test at the back and ask you about your scars, moles, and tattoos. It doesn’t matter if you have any of that, it’s just that you are not bothered or shy and you answer questions on a positive note, smile.
Deliberation of candidates will be processed for this round 1, and then passers’ numbers will be announced.
Day 2: Group Dynamics (Round 2)
The activity will in pairs or in group. It’s either give you materials and create something out of it, or give you the question and come up with your answer.
TIPS:
- Don’t be competitive on this round but rather introduce the other one.
- Show them that you are a team player.
- Listen carefully to instructions and make sure to follow them.
- In 2 minutes, you have to work with each other (in pairs), or with your group.
- Don’t speak in Taglish, English only.
- Speak politely and be positive by giving compliments, involve others.
During this activity, don’t mind and look at the recruiters as they roam around the room, making observations because the moment you look at them you’ll sure be out for this round.
Day 3: Final Interview
The final interview is a 30 minute talk with the recruiters. The venue for this round will be in a smaller room, opened curtains and natural light comes in.
TIPS:
- Make sure no scars are seen and properly concealed.
- Sit properly, hands on top of the other.
- Have the proper grooming – make-up, hair, and nails.
- Smile on, talk positively.
- Remain calm. Whenever you speak, mind your gestures and body movements because it will tell them how you handle pressure.
- Get the interview right.
- Questions will be asked on you based on your registered form. Mostly about your current job: e.g “What is your worst experience as a flight attendant?” This is one kind of behavioral questions and your answer should have 3 parts: tell me what happened; what you did; and in the end it was alright. Share a successful story and refrain from telling negative thoughts. When you are asked with a negative question, turn it on its positive version.
These are things to look forward to in application in Qatar Airways. It is still your performance and confidence that would make you dream job as a flight attendant to come try with the right attitude and preparation.
