People thinks to be a flight attendant, you must be tall. Answers question like a beauty pageant.
Here I will share the application process steps to be a cabin crew based on my personal experiences.
- Meet the Basic Requirements- Bring your resume, pictures, and wear business attire.
The basic requirements to be a flight attendant are the required height, weight - wherein your weight should be proportionate to your height, and your educational background. You must also first check the specific required height of the airline you’re applying for because it varies from one company to another. You don’t have to be really skinny or to have a model figure, but instead your weight is proportional to your height. Check you Body Mass Index (BMI) in Google to know your weight ratio based on your height.
In international airline companies, high school graduates can apply unlike for the local companies which have higher standards to college graduates. And airline companies set their preferred age and civil status in pooling applicants.
- Pass the Interview Process
In the interview process, there are 4 parts: impact interview, group discussion, written exam, and final interview. The result of your interview varies from immediate to 2 weeks. The duration will be 2 consecutive days for the Open Days which are usually held in hotel as a big event, and Regular Interview is usually set 2 dates from a month or more waiting time.

- Pass the Medical Exams
Medical exams are shouldered by the applicants which costs around Php 2,000- 5,000. Make sure you have a healthy lifestyle and maintain it. Tests are CBC, urinalysis, fecalysis, x-ray, ECG, drug test, hearing test, pregnancy test, physical examination, and eye exam. Some airline companies do not accept if an applicant have scoliosis. For your visions, applicants who are wearing eyeglasses, nearsighted or farsighted are all alright to be a flight attendant.
- Pass the Flight Attendant Training
In the local scene, the passing rate is 90-95% and you’re only allowed to have fail 3-5 times. Once you have 6, you’re out of the program. Unlike in the international scene, the passing rate is 80-85%
You must really study. Be on time because you can never be late in any training or absent.
To be a flight attendant, you should all these 4 steps because every process is essential to be a good fit to be a cabin crew for a specific airline company.
