In here, I will share the advantages and disadvantages of being a flight attendant based on my personal experiences.
Advantages of a flight attendant:
- You get to work with people. I prefer working with people than working on the office desk. I learn from different kind of people and I love working with people.
- The work is dynamic and fast-changing. The environment of being a flight attendant is the perfect fit for me because I’m the kind of person who easily gets bored of doing things just the same.
- Most people get into this job because of money your earns are of with the great value.

- Opportunity to travel for free. The dream job of travelling without any expense from tickets to accommodation to your allowance.
- Discounted tickets. Annual leaves and days-off, you can travel with ticket discounts. Like if the round trip tickets cost Php50,000, as an international flight attendant you can get it at Php15,000 inclusive of all taxes and fees.
- You learn different cultures and people through passengers or colleagues.
- You can adjust your coping skills to different people because you are exposed to difficult passengers or colleagues as well.
- You have career options to level up your status - to grooming officer, supervisor, etc. This is not a dead end job, further research is needed to better know their standards.
- You should always look your best. Appearance is really important as a flight attendant because you are the face of the airline company. You should properly groomed and prepare for every flight.
- You get to take care of yourself because as a flight attendant you must stay fit for the job. To be surrounded by good influence to go to gym, swimming, spa, and other perks to feel great.
- Time flies so fast. You would really notice that it’s been a year or two because everything happens fast.
Indeed, these advantages being a flight attendant are something to look forward to as an aspirant. “Kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw may dahilan.”
