Aside from the flight attendant value points of get along with others or pakikisama, customer service, being physically fit and being open to changes. Here is the continuation of points to consider if the cabin crew career is for you:
- Can work independently. As a flight attendant, you have to do the work with little supervision coming from your head. You have to do the flight attendant roles and responsibility on your own. Do not be dependent on your colleague. Each of you in the crew have different tasks for a certain flight and you will be working with different crew, so you really need to be independent. Also, you and your close friends in the airline may not have the same day offs. With that, you have to do the chores and errands on your own. Being independent could help you survive the flight attendant life.
- Can work on a irregular schedule.You will miss most of your social and family celebrations - birthday, reunion, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and holidays. This point could get your depressed because of this, and some gave up their flight attendant career because of it. But through the help of social media - video calls, I was able to cope up and by looking forward to something just like our trip in Europe make the situation alright for me. Planning ahead your leaves will make it easier for you to move forward and be happy with your job.

- Can work at night. There are a lot of red eye flights - you work at midnight until morning and you sleep at day. In one week, there will a changes on your schedule so you must adjust your sleeping pattern every now and then. That you’re forever feel jetlag because your time will be really a challenge but of an advantage if your one of those night owls who can easily sleep during daytime.
- Be a health conscious individual. Taking care of your body is really important as a flight attendant to keep your it healthy. Being healthy is a must for every flight attendant because of you cannot do your role if your weak and sick. Most flight attendants are into fitness to keep themselves healthy and fit for the job.
If all these - being independent, alright to work on holidays, can adjust easily your sleeping patterns, and being health conscious individually, then probably the flight attendant career is for you.
Also, having a well-balanced life will keep you motivated and passionate towards your job. To love your job and having the passion to do customer service are the things I did. Landing on your dream job was one of the best things that will ever happen to a person. My very secret while I was flight attendant is to get enough sleep to maintain that level of energy needed.
Deciding on whether the cabin crew career is for you is just a matter of your self-assessment. Considering these points will help you and will prepare you for the application process in different airlines, both locally and internationally as a flight attendant.
