Are you prepared for an FA interview? What are the usual questions being asked by the interviewer? How to passed the FA interview?

In here, you will know the questions I encountered, experienced during my own application as FA in 8 years. Questions may vary from time to time depending on your interviewee. Now, it is on you on what strategy you’ll use to answer, but always remember to answer with a star.

  1. Basic Questions - The questions applicable to any job post application.
  • Tell me about yourself.
  • Where do you see yourself five years from now?
  • Why should we hire you?
  • What are you strengths?
  • What are your weaknesses?
  • What is your edge among other candidates?
  • Why do you want this job?
  • Why will you leave your current job?

  1. Airline Related Questions - The questions related to airline company and its operation, exclusively asked for FA applicants.
  • What is the airline’s tag line?
  • Where are the destinations?
  • How big is their fleet or their airplanes?
  • What is the history of the company?
  • Where are their hubs or locations?
  • Who are their competitions?
  • What is their brand all about?
  • What is their frequent flyer program?
  • Who is their CEO?
  • What do you like about this airline?
  • Why do you want to be a cabin crew?
  • What challenges do you think our airline will face in the future?
  1. Situational and emergency related questions - The questions are based on certain scenarios will be given for your to react and discuss on what you’ll do. Please note that no options are provided.
  • When there is a Muslim passenger who’ll like to pray, what will you do? Will let him pray?
  • If a Muslim woman refuse to sit with somebody who’s not a woman, then it’s a full flight - how will you handle the situation.
  • There’s a fire in the lavatory, what will you do?
  • There’s a fire in the oven, how will you handle the situation? Will you call the captain first? Will you fight the fire first?
  1. Surprise questions - The questions are not related to basic or the airline, but are designed to figure out your character towards certain worst scenarios.
  • Why should we not hire you?
  • What is your favorite pet? And hoe would you relate it to your job as a FA?
  • What is your stand on politics?
  1. Behavioral or open-minded questions - The final set of questions which will require you to tell a story to the interviewer about a trait. Telling a story will let them know you as a person and show your character in delivering it. Prove your quality and how did you manage to have it.

 

A flight attendant applicant must able to answer different types of questions given by the interviewer, such as the basic questions, airline related questions, situational and emergency related questions, surprise questions, and behavioral or open-minded questions.
