How to be a Flight Attendant: Question & Answer

How to be a Flight Attendant?| Q&A retirement age for FAs, what are the interview questions

I posted on instagram photo for this Q&A video and below are the random questions I picked:

mrrielaustria: “San ka po graduate ng College?

Answer: I graduated in the University of Visayas at Cebu with  in BS Nursing. I’m also a registered nurse.

dlpzsai: can a married aspiring cabin attendant still be hired.

A: Yes, you can but it still depends on the airlines. In Qatar Airways and other international airlines, they accept. In Philippines local airlines, it depends on their qualifications. Sometimes, it requires single applicants. You must always check the airline’s advertisement for which all qualifications are stated.

tuazonmarks: I’m planning to enroll in OMNI Aviation Corporation for their training. Do your suggest for me to continue enrolling or? Will the money be worth it? Or I’ll just apply directly to airlines? Thank you!!!

A: It depends on your own needs, qualification, and personality. Like, if you are very shy then personality development can really help you on that aspect. Or if you don’t have any idea about the aviation world, the training can enlighten you well and give the needed information in the hiring process. In my own experience, I did it on my own and I learned from my mistakes and mishaps. And it took me 8 years to finally get the position that I want to. It really depends on you, you may take it or not.

lovelygtrrz: hi miss kaykrizz I just wanted to ask you something about the age retirement of flight attendant. I am a little bit confused of choosing a job for my future… I’ll be in college next school year. I love flight attendant & that was my big dream since I was a little girl. What I’m worrying about is the age retirement… for instance I’m a flight attendant and if I reach 40 and above, can I still work at least in the airport services?

A: No, you don’t need to retire at the age of 40. It depends on you of what age you like to retire. I’ve known a number of my colleagues before that they still work in the age of 50’’s and up. It’s up to you if you want to stay as a cabin crew ‘til that age. After a few years, you can have the chance to improve and accelerate your career through becoming an instructor, business class, grooming officer, first-aid instructor, quality line checker, etc. It may also depend on your performances and application within the airline company.

tanfresa: Hi miss kaykrizz ano pong possible questions sa interview ng FA? Thank you po. God bless.

A: Tell me about yourself.

What are you doing right now?

Did you apply to us before?

Why do you want to apply in our airline?

What is your strengths and weaknesses?

What is your edge over the other candidates?

Can you sing a song, in English or Tagalog?

Can you smile, your biggest smile?

Sometimes the final interview is more of conversation and free-flowing. It has open ended questions like telling a time where you overcome the biggest challenge of your life.

jennuary12: Hi @misskaykrizz is it still possible po to apply for a cabin crew/ flight attendant even if you’re already 27? Is it ok if you have one lacking tooth due to dental braces or should you fill that tooth like inplant or bridge. Thank you so much

A: Yes, it is still possible to be a flight attendant at 27. I got hired in Oman airlines at 27 as an international flight attendant. I also have a missing tooth in molar ‘til now. It’s not a must to fix it.

Gemmyyy: Can you DIRECTLY apply in an airline after graduating a 4-year course? Or you still need to have a working experience on that particular course to be able to apply as an FA? Thank you!

A: No, you an apply directly because they accept fresh graduates.

vishakha_agg: Mam, I want to get my confusion clear about do I have to need any degree in aviation or directly I can apply as I am going to complete my BSC math this year?

A: No, you don’t need an aviation degree to apply as a flight attendant.

mariamikaaaa: Hi miss kaykrizz, just wanna ask kung hindi ba nag hire ang mga airlines ng applicants ng naka braces pa? Are they strict to that? And kung ano po mas kinukuha nila as cabin crew, facial features ba na dapat maganda or sa character? Thank you so much po.

A: I know that you can apply as a cabin crew with braces on but if you start the job, you’ll need to remove it on the 1st day of training. When hiring, they look on every aspect of your qualifications - face and character or even if you’re fit on their culture or standards.

k.rhayour: Hello dearest hope you had an amazing year! I am about to reach my 10th time trying with Qatar airways, time flies so fast. In my second time, I went through every thing, after two months I got that email. I kept trying since then and most of the assessments I attended, I got out of the second stage: reach test I messed up at the topic part, I can reach just when I sit and start to talk sth weird happened while I am talking: I start normal and then I words immediately cut off. It’s been truly painful to my why this happen every time. Thank you for reading my comment and I would love to hearing from you soon, I deeply love this and I’ll stay strong until I got it.

A: Just keep on applying. Sometimes, luck is good. But its all up to you, to keep pursuing your dream to be a flight attendant.

shopelixir_: I applied for QR last Aug 2016, and got through the Final Interview. However, because I declared scars, my application took a long while as I was still required to send a photo with and without make up, but unfortunately after almost 2 months of having send them the required photos they send me a regret email. I don’t know what else to do, as of the moment I am having procedures done to get rid of my face off scars but it seems like nothing’s happening. What should I do @misskaykrizz?

A: Don’t loose hope. It’s hard to face rejections but you have to move forward. You can try again and I hope you have a better luck next time. It’s also alright to get rid off your scars if that’s you want.

daughter.of.eru: Hi! I have a question for Qatar Airways… if I only can reach 2,02cm.. do you think is there any possibility that they want me in? Thanks.

A: You can’t enter the door if you can’t reach the 2.12 cm with Qatar Airways. They have very particular on that aspect. That is there thing. Every airline has their own thing. In Oman, it’s the BMI. And I think its for safety measures for Qatar airways.
