Money, money, money. This is the first part: how does a flight attendant get paid?
It’s a very tricky question when you ask flight attendant on how much is their sweldo which is a bit hard to explain. Here are the 3 ways how flight attendants get paid:
- Basic Salary.Flight attendants earn their basic salary amounting to Php15,000, this low rate incurs minimal tax to pay. Whether a flight flies or not, she’ll get this basic salary.
- Flying Time.Another way for flight attendants get paid is by their flying time wherein the first 50 hours corresponds to an average of Php100. And if you exceed on the number of hours, the rate is bigger. Some companies will pay Php400, while some at Php200. Also, for example you reached 80 flying hours, the airline will pay you Php500 per hours but it really depends on the company’s policy.

- Per diem or per layover allowances.If you stays in the place where your flight destination is, you’ll get paid through the number of hours your stay in that place. The airline company can give you the outright while your in the place or will just add on your salary. In case of outright pay, the currency will be based on what country you’ll stay.
Aside from these, airline companies offer other perks, bonuses, and allowances to flight attendants. Some companies would give perfect attendance bonus, rice allowance, and other incentives.
So, the are the ways how flight attendants get paid are through their basic salary, flying time, per diem, and other allowances or bonuses which depends on the airline company’s policy.
