The question: “What is your stand on politics?” has been asked to me during my final interview in PAL Express.
Politics has a very big part on our life whereas the government people came from. Government are the body who writes, imposes, and generates rules, laws for the public and as well as the benefits given to people. Politics happen not just in the government, it also happens in the workplace. It happens with our group of friends or in the churches that we belong. It’s sad, but its all true.

The recruiters ask this question for them to know on how you’ll handle their own kind of politics. Every company has its own culture, challenges, strengths, and weaknesses. You, as a potential member - What kind of person are you?
Your politician bet is not the way to answer this question, like you’re rooting for Duterte or Miriam Santiago. No, not that.
How to answer this question?
“That is a very interesting question and I know politics, religion, and money are subjects that are very sensitive to a lot of people. That is why I leave my politics talk at home and I share my opinion with my close family and friends. But whenever I am involved in a political something, I really do try my best to contribute rather than one of those people who complain. Because for me, I believe that change comes from within. A positive change can only be achieve if your are doing positive actions, while doing negative actions can only worsen things. So, that is my view on politics.”
Through this way of answering the question, you can show to the interviewer that you are involved as a person, you respect other people’s opinion, and you are willing to go for a positive change in any communities or groups you belong in.
