Do you like to swim? Are you a water baby? Does as an aspirant need to be a swimmer to be a flight attendant?
IN SWIMMING CLASS, when the instructor asked you to jump, jump.
IN INTERVIEW, they will not ask you if you know how to swim, what strokes you know, and what your experience in swimming is. It’s not part of your qualifications to pass the interview but it is a need to pass the training.

Some airline companies held swimming training for 1-3 days. During the training, you’ll practice wearing life jackets, how to gather the passengers while in the water, going in and out of the raft, or jump into and out of the water.
Basically, you don’t need to be good in swimming but be comfortable in water. Because in emergency situation, the airline just want to make sure that when it is a need for you to jump, you’ll jump.
With that, here are my tips for your swimming training:
- Know how to jump; and
- Know how to float.
In your final exam for your swimming training : you will be asked to float and thread for 30 minutes. If you pass that, you’re in.
