What if they won’t even accept me? What if I waste my time preparing for the interview because of this little thing?

Here, I answered your what ifs questions regarding your doubts in applying as a flight attendant.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I don’t have a 20/20 vision?

A: Yes. There are flight attendant who wear eye glasses. But you have to correct your vision by using contact lenses or eye glasses during flights.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I am a single  mom?

A: Yes, you can apply as a flight attendant. But I’m not sure if they’ll accept married with kids because most of the ads in the Philippines wherein airline’s requirement is just single. Also, if there’s no indicated requirement for status, then you can apply on it.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I have a missing tooth, not complete and not straight?

A: As long as when you smile and there’s none missing, then you’ll good to go. What important is your top set of teeth. Not necessary to spend on braces because you just need to smile great. Also, you are not allowed to wear removal teeth or pustiso and retainer during your duty. I suggest you get the bridge.

Q:  Can I still be a flight attendant if my height is short?

A: Each company has their own height requirement. Cebu Pac is 5’3”, PAL is 5’2”, PAL Express is 5’3”, and Air Asia is 5’4”. For Middle East, it’s 5’2” - 5’4”. They also do reach test of 212cm. Also, sometimes it’s a game of luck. Then, your accepted weight should depend on your height through your BMI (Body Mass Index). Make sure you are within range of your BMI.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I only know English as an international language?

A: Yes, unless there are hiring for specific kind of speakers.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if my course is no related to aviation?

A: For international flight attendant, they require high school graduates only, and for local, college level. The course won’t matter because there are flight attendants who graduated as teachers, accountant, etc.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I am 25 years old?

A: For the Philippines, they require at least 18 years old and international requires the average between 21-24 years old. When you have experience as a flight attendant, some would still accept ages of 28 or higher because they take consideration of the years you have flight before. Or even you look younger than your age. These ages change from time to time, you should check the airlines’ advertisement.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I have a very short hair?

A: Yes, you can still apply. To have a long hair is not requirement, its just that its nice to see women who can put their hair in a bun. Also, your hair should not touch the nape of your neck or a bob cut perhaps which does not touch your uniform’s collar.

Q: Can I still be a Flight Attendant if I have a scar?

A:  It depends on what kind of scar you have because I knew someone who had a dark scar and it has to be removed per airline company. But if you can conceal it, you can make it.

Overall, these questions are the most asked ones. The information on this still depends on the airline’s standards.
